Modeling TipsYou want to be a model? Tyra Banks finally got to you? If this is the case, you might want to realize right now that it’s not just about having a pretty face or having the best luck possible. You need to keep in mind that being a model takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and time. A model might seem like they barely have to work in order to make millions of dollars, but what you don’t see behind the scenes is that models spend a long time trying to get into the eyes of the public. Here’s how you can do it too. Get ThinnerAssuming the current way-too-darn-thin trend continues, you’re going to need to lose weight if you want to be a model. You are going to need to lose at least ten pounds, no matter what weight you are right now, and you’ll need to dip far below what’s recommended for your height. Of course, if you’re naturally skinny and way too thin, you’re on the right track. But if you are just the right size for your height, realize that you might be asked to lose weight before you can sit for a shoot. You can do this by eating less and exercising more than you are right now. Get ConnectedThe modeling business and your success in it will also depend on how you are connected with the bigwigs in town. You will need to get connected to those who might be able to give you jobs. Whether this means you start attending modeling shows or you begin to write letters to the modeling agencies, you need to start getting your name known in the modeling world. Find out who’s big in the modeling that you want to do and then friend them on Facebook, begin to chat them up online, and do everything outside of stalking them to get connected. Get Out ThereYou need to model if you want to become a model, so now is not the time to get picky about the sorts of jobs you will take. You want to make sure you are getting your name into as many modeling gigs as you can. This will help you build your resume, while also helping you build up your portfolio. Sign up for as many jobs as you can, even those that seem to be silly or beneath you. Everyone has to start somewhere. Cindy Crawford didn’t start out in the big time, so neither will you. When you begin to enter the modeling world, you’ll notice that you are just one of hundreds and hundreds of eager men and women. It’s a good idea to point out anything that’s unique about your look and your style so that you are able to make a lasting impression. You need to be the one that first comes to mind after an audition. Stand out and you’ll get noticed. |
